“Never see a need without doing something about it.”

This quote, attributed to St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, is the inspiration of the new LCCC Social Justice Group.  By raising awareness of social injustices the group aims to disturb people into action. The group meets on Monday, Day 1, at 1:05pm in Room 105.

Our students’ have shown on numerous occasions that they are willing to do something about social injustice.  This year the College raised $2508 for Caritas’ projects in Australia and overseas. Thank you to everyone who generously supported Project Compassion.

Year 8 students spent time at their Retreat last Friday reflecting on who they are becoming and what/who influences them.  Students’ creativity was evident in their sandcastles that symbolised an important aspect of their lives.  Fr Michael led a liturgy, which included a guided meditation, exploring the nature of love.  Photos of our students enjoying some of the activities on the day are below.

Years 2 and 3/4 will have their Retreat on Friday 30 May in the Frank Maher Pavilion from midday. The focus will be on friendships and forgiveness.
