NSW School Based Student Vaccination Program

I

Each year NSW Department of Health offers the vaccines recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council for adolescents as part of the school-based immunisation program.

Information kits for all students eligible for immunisation are sent home at the beginning of each school year.   To consent to the vaccination of their child, parents/guardians are advised to read all the information provided, complete the consent form and return it to the College as soon as possible.  Please ensure that your child eats breakfast on the day of the school vaccination.

Students who do not return a completed immunisation prior to immunisation day will need to make alternative arrangements to be immunised.

A record of vaccination will be given to each student on immunisation day.  Parents/guardians should ensure that this record is kept for future reference and should not assume that their child has been vaccinated if they do not receive this Record of Vaccination.

The dates for 2014 vaccinations at Lumen Christi are as follows:

  • Tuesday 11 February — HPV1, Boostrix & Varicella for Year 7 male and female students and HPV1 Year 9 male students
  • Tuesday 8 April—HPV2 for Year 7 male and female students and Year 9 male students
  • Tuesday 26 August—HPV3 for Year 7 male and female students and Year 9 male students
